Lesson 159 – Lateral Timing

Sequencing of the downswing tends to be an issue for someone who like to turn their lower body before completing the weight shift, or pressure transfer, to the front side. When rotation precedes lateral shift, the swing path is often forced Over-the-Top, and many issues can stem from that path direction. It is very important to clear space laterally with the hips before unwinding with rotation. Shifting first will also tilt the right shoulder more downward, influencing a more Inside-to-Out path.
