Lesson 163 – Clubface Control

Clubface control can be a tough task to fix, especially if there is a two way miss. Common factors are the Grip, Wrist Angles, and Forearm Rotation, among others. In this case, lots of forearms rotation is being used to close the face. Although this is the preferred method to release the club, releasing too early can have drastic effects on the ball flight, as well as the visual aspect of the swing.
Just practicing is the best way to control the clubface, and having launch monitor data at your disposal is very helpful. IT GIVES YOU THE CLUBFACE ANGLE AT IMPACT! Look at it. Study it. Learn what face angles produce what types of shots. And as stated in the video, only rely on LM data when the strike is solid. Off-Center strikes can mess with the numbers, so disregard any mishits. There’s a reason the word shit is in mishit.
